Municipal Government Act (MGA)
The Municipal Government Act is the primary legislation that establishes how municipalities in Alberta operate. It sets out the roles and responsibilities of councils and municipal administration and provides the legislative framework for areas such as taxation, assessment, planning and development, bylaws, public participation and municipal governance.
Alberta Municipal Affairs
Alberta Municipal Affairs provides information and resources about how municipalities operate in Alberta, including municipal governance, elections, property assessment and taxation, planning, legislation and other matters affecting municipalities and residents.
Alberta Laws & King’s Printer
Alberta King’s Printer provides official access to Alberta legislation and related government publications and resources. Residents can use it to find current Acts, regulations and other official provincial materials.
County Bylaws & Policies
